New fence around the Synagogue

On the request of the Jewish Community, the Advisory Board of the “SOS Synagogue” Foundation with the assist of the Inter Municipal Institute for the Protection of Monuments in Subotica announced a tender for a new fence around the Syngaogue. The company elected for the assignment was BackaInvest, and this summer the fence was built.

Several times the exterior of the Synagogue (e.g. the stairs of the only entrance in use) was a victim of vandalism. We hope the fence will put an end to these inhuman acts, and that this will be followed up by other reconstructive works on the building and in the courtyard of the Synagogue.
